QuickSnap User Documentation
What is QuickSnap?
QuickSnap is grouping software for the AN-SNAP version 3 and version 4 classifications, both of which were developed by the Australian Health Services Research Institute (AHSRI), a research institute of the University of Wollongong. QuickSnap is compatible with Windows XP, 7 and 8.
You can find more information about AN-SNAP version 3 on AHSRI's website:
This software has been developed primarily for people that will be submitting data to the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA), but may also be useful for other AN-SNAP users. It is freely available for use by any health service organisation.
We have consulted with the IHPA and several services to create a system which will be easy to use and allows batch grouping of data which conforms to IHPA's Dataset Specification (DSS).
QuickSnap can also be used to perform interactive grouping (i.e. type in the values and view the AN-SNAP class for that set of values).

Here is a guide to the documentation for QuickSnap:
- QuickSnap User Guide: these pages explain how to use QuickSnap to process a file containing AN-SNAP data, and how to interpret the output and error files.
- AN-SNAP Flow Charts: this PDF document contains the flow-charts which describe how data items are used to arrive at a classification (for Version 3)
- QuickSnap File Formats: these pages explain how to create a file which QuickSnap can use to generate AN-SNAP classes for Episodes (or Palliative Care Phases).
