The online PACOP Fundamentals Course introduces the PACOP assessments, teaching the fundamental knowledge needed to implement PACOPs standardised assessment/response framework into residential aged care. Understanding the PACOP model of care will support aged care staff with early recognition of deterioration and identification of the need for palliative care. Aged care staff will also learn evidence-based clinical responses to address the palliative care needs of residents, a clinical protocol for a whole of team approach, and care planning consideration guiding delivery of best practice palliative care.
This course is designed for the aged care workforce, targeted at Registered and Enrolled Nurses who are leading PACOP implementation at your Aged Care Home (ACH), to enhance knowledge and clinical skills, building capacity for palliative care in residential aged care homes.
