Accessing the Resident Screen

To enter resident information, you need to be on the resident screen in palCentre.  It can be accessed by clicking on the 'Resident' option in the navigation menu bar.

Additional Information

Resident Identifier

The unique identifier assigned to the resident by your home. This is a mandatory item - you cannot submit this screen without this information.

Date of Birth

The Date of Birth of your resident

Family Name

This data this not submitted to PACOP but is required to generate the statistical linkage key.

Given Name

This data this not submitted to PACOP but is required to generate the statistical linkage key.

Sex

The Sex sex of your Resident

Country of Birth

If the country of birth is Australia, select this from the drop down menu. Otherwise select ‘other’ from the drop down menu and start typing the country of birth into the please specify field. Once you start typing a drop down list of counties will appear, select the appropriate country. If the country of birth is not stated, select this from the drop down menu.

Preferred Language

If the preferred language is English, select this from the drop down menu. Otherwise select ‘other’ from the drop down menu and start typing the preferred language into the please specify field. Once you start typing a drop down list of languages will appear, select the appropriate language. If the preferred language is not stated, select this from the drop down menu.

Indigenous Status

The Indigenous status of your resident.

This information can be found on the top section of the admission and discharge details tool. The items that need to be entered into this screen are highlighted in yellow below:

Once all of the information has been entered, click ‘save’.

Tip

To avoid having blank data items appear on your data quality report, select the 'Not stated' or 'Unknown/inadequately described' option in instances where this information has not been provided.

Once the form has been saved, the resident will now appear in the list on the resident screen.

To change any of the resident details, click on the purple pencil icon to the right of the residents you wish to change

Searching for a Resident

To search for a Resident, type their resident identifier (or their name) into the search bar located in the top left hand corner of the screen. Then, click on the search icon

Tip

To remove any search parameters, click on the 'Reset' button in the Advanced Resident Search or the 'Clear Search' option on the resident screen. This will allow you to see you to see the full list of current residents that appeared when opening palCentre.

Archiving a resident

Tip

Archiving a resident will remove them from the main resident screen but will still include all their information in the extracts submitted to PACOP. It is recommended to archive all residents that have either been discharged from your aged care home or died.

To archive a resident, click on the folder file icon to the right of the residents you wish to archive

Deleting a Resident

Deleting a resident means they will not be included in the data that is extracted and reported to PACOP. Please ensure you only delete residents that are a mistake and should not be in your PACOP data.
