    • Download and Extract the Files:

      • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

    • Set Configuration File Location:

      • During setup, ensure the configuration file location matches its current location.

How does the update process work?

  • Run the installer and follow the instructions

  • When you update a computer from epiCentre v2.0/v2.1/v2.2 to v2.3, and start epiCentre for the first time post-upgrade, it will check the version of the epiCentre database. When it notices that the version is lower than 2.3, it will prompt the user for a database update and assuming it’s successful, update the database structure to 2.3.

  • After the database update is successful on one machine, no other installs will see the prompt to update.

You mentioned a database update: Do I need to do anything with database specific staff to get this update working?

  • No, epiCentre can update its database by itself. This has no effect on other databases on the same server, as it only has privileges to update its own database.

Can I update one computer and leave the rest?

  • No, because the underlying structure of the epiCentre database changes. This means that older versions of epiCentre are no longer compatible with the new database. They will still be able to connect, but will cause data integrity issues. If, for whatever reason, you cannot update all the computers in a short period of time, please ensure that all users on the old version stop using epiCentre until they are updated. Please confirm with the relevant team that you have a complete list of machines with epiCentre installed to ensure that every installation gets updated.
